Full-time Maternity Leave Cover (Fixed-Term Role)
The Community Migrant Resource Centre (CMRC) is seeking experienced Youth Engagement and Support Worker to join our Youth Transition Support Workers to provide targeted and tailored services to our youth clients. This role is a fixed-term position for 7 months to cover a maternity leave period.
Key Responsibilities
- Casework Support Services: Provide trauma-informed employability skill support, focusing on confidence, English language, and tech literacy.
- Program Co-design: Work with youth to design inclusive education support and aspirational goal- setting models.
- Employment Initiatives: Deliver job readiness programs and innovative initiatives like small business incubators.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain relationships with industry bodies, employers, schools, and various stakeholders.
- Work Experience: Implement structured local work experience placements tailored to individual client needs.
- Advocacy: Build social capital and provide advocacy for youth facing systemic barriers.
Employment Details
- Status: 35 hours per week
- Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract
- Duration: 7 Months (End Date: 27th November, 2026)
- Salary: SCHADS Award, Level 3, Pay Point 1
- Probationary Period: A standard probationary period applies to this role.
- Location: CMRC Head Office, Parramatta.
Selection Criteria Essential:
- Tertiary qualifications or related professional experience.
- Experience working with youth from refugee backgrounds (education or employment support preferred).
- Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed practice.
- Strong networks with community, education, and employment sectors.
- Ability to develop collaborative relationships with education providers and employers.
- Pro-active, solution-focused, and creative mindset.
